I looked up most of the information on the ancestors of my dogs through http://www.pedigreedatabase.com. They have so much information and just looking up the information took me forever, it makes me really appreciate all the work that was done to provide us with information on the German Shepherd ancestors. It seems like there is so much championship in our dogs ancestory that there is no way I can post all of them.


To start off I am not a breeder. These are my pets. My dogs are fed a well-balanced diet and are given lots of love, attention and exercise. They are socialized with children and other dogs. They are very protective and train so very easily. They listen well and love to please. They are very strong and have a high intelligence. They are loyal and protective and have a very good sense of smell.  They stay highly active and are very self assured, probably from being spoiled rotten. Our puppies get hand on loving from the minute they are born. 

In 1899 an cavalry captain and former student of the Berlin Veterinary College, dog show when he was shown a dog named Hektor Linksrhein. He bought him as a working dog and changed his name to Horand von Grafrath. This is what I have found to be the first German Shepherd Dog. He was so taken with the strength of the dog and by the animal's intelligence and loyalty that he bought him immediately. He then founded  the Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde (Society for the German Shepherd Dog).  
Horand von Grafrath was declared to be the first German Shepherd Dog and was the first dog added to the society's breed register.  I have track the ancestors of our dogs back to Horand von Grafrath.
